Dance Nexus is an annual combined schools dance program by DRILL. Each year we work with selected primary and secondary schools in a 5-week in-school residency to create dance pieces around a common theme. For previous years, check out CONNECT4, All 4 Earth, The Mountain Project and Dance Nexus 2017.

In 2018 choreographer Joshua Lowe, worked with 100 students from Windermere Primary, Kempton Primary, Moonah Primary, Campania District, and Montrose Bay High Schools to learn about contemporary dance and create dance pieces that explored what students were learning in their science curriculum. Selected students from each school were also invited to the Peter Underwood Centre to work with Simploid the NAO Robot, choreographing a piece with the robot that they then performed.

The students performed their pieces together over three performances at Montrose Bay High School for their fellow students, friends, family and community members.
